Malocclusion is often misunderstood, and the focus of contention becomes the teeth (bandaid method) and not the cause of malocclusion, which is actually the foundation (bone structure).
Normal healthy jaws (upper and lower) are supposed to have enough room to accommodate all 32 teeth - yes including the wisdom teeth! It will be naturally straight, allowing for normal breathing through the nose, and therefore reduced or no dental diseases. This may sound unreal, but we have much evidence of this through the studies of Dr Weston Price, Dr Corruccini, and many other reputable researchers.
When mankind turned to the modern diet (count roughly 6 generations past, or 400 years), we were not aware it was nutrition deficient at first. But it immediately caused deficient development in our children the very first generation who was put on a white flour and sugar diet. The modernized refined processed foods lack Vitamin C and E, which are only two micronutrients essential to the growth of our children, and their bone structures - including the jaw and airway. The refined sugar also competes with Vitamin C, preventing V-C from being absorbed by our bodies - while Vitamin C is the nutrient which epigenetically controls the growth of the bone.
The result in the immediate first generation children, was crooked teeth of various sorts, smaller jaws, smaller airways and noses, and more tendency to breath through the mouth. Energy in these children were also much lower. Mouth breathing causes a slew of medical issues, along with gum disease and tooth decay.
How is traditional orthodontic methods harmful then? Remember, the affected children already have a small airway. This is why their teeth are not straight naturally. But in order to straighten these teeth, the traditional method makes the jaw even smaller. This means the airway is becoming smaller also.
This method retracts and pulls teeth back after shaving the teeth to make them smaller for more room, or extracting them altogether to make room. This causes the jaw bone structure to press against the skull behind it and above it, which affects the pituitary gland responsible for many of your body system’s needed hormones. This trauma and injury can result in vision problems, digestive issues, reproductive hormonal imbalances, sleep disturbances, skin problems, and more.
The Retractive Method of straightening is unnatural to the human body and can be harmful.
For an easy to understand illustration, please see the Story of the Headgear video. It will show how pulling our jaw back with headgear, metal brace, and even clear aligners, can affect the rest of our head and neck.
The natural way to straighten, in-line with the natural growth pattern and direction of our bodies is called the Airway-centered Orthodontic Model. What is functional is also esthetic. To restore function, our sleep studio utilizes expansive techniques which is in line with our normal growth pattern. We utilizes natural stem-cell signaling, so our body’s own stem cells can grow and expand our jaw bone and airway without surgical intervention.

Did you have
01 : Teeth extracted to straighten
02 : Palatal expansion as a child, but afterwards, a wire was placed to hold the teeth
03 : Headgear to pull upper teeth back
04 : Wire braces
05 : Clear Aligner braces (Invisalign, CANDID, SmileDirect, Clear Correct) from a non-Airway dentist
If you had any of the above, your body is likely suffering from some degree of airway resistance or tension around the jaw, head neck, shoulder and should consult our Airway Dentist to fully evaluate.
Furthermore, a slew of common health issues can occur either immediately or over time.
